How to draw a dolphin step by step. Free printable spread with the steps, tracing, and space to draw your own
A real spread from the printed book. On the left page the dolphin is built in six simple steps. On the right the same drawing appears as a dotted outline to trace, with blank space beside it for the child's own attempt.

The drawing starts from one curved drop shape, and each step adds one detail. Everything drawn earlier turns gray while the new line stays black, so the child never has to compare two pictures to find the change. the fin, the tail and the smile come one at a time, and the dolphin is recognizable by step three.
The second page matters as much as the first. The child traces the finished outline, so the hand learns the shape before producing it alone. Then, in the blank space beside it, they draw their own. All the learning happens between those two actions.
A short fun fact is printed beside the drawing, so the session leaves the child with more than a picture. Print as many copies as you need; no registration and no email.

Questions parents ask
How do you draw a dolphin for a 5-year-old?
Start from one curved drop shape and add one detail per step. This sheet uses six steps, and each one shows only what to add now. Tracing the finished outline first makes the independent attempt easier.
How many steps does this drawing take?
Six. The first is a simple shape, each following step adds one detail, and the earlier lines turn gray.
Is it really free?
Yes. No registration, no email, no payment. Print as many copies as you need, at home or in a school.
Why are there two pages in the file?
That is how the book works: one page shows the steps, the next is where the child draws. Print both and place them side by side to get the same spread as in the book.
